Ash: For some reason.
Sam: My favorite wasn't you're like you're not responding so I'm just making an executive decision.
Ash: No my favorite is when Sam told me that Pat was dming and I assumed that that meant he was hosting the show and I loved the idea that the host was now the DM of the show.
Sam: Let's rewash.
Pat: I mean I am for it like I think we should still do that but.
Pat: I'm really excited yes another super cool things I'm very excited because making his triumphant return to Let's re-watch is the one the only the co-creator of the phenomenal comic-book dryad Justin Barcelo hey bud.

Pat: Know if you like good wholesome if you like wholesome cute art.
Justin: 18 +.
Justin: I thought this was like a post-apocalyptic like trying to survive in America podcast that's what I signed up for it that's what the email.
Pat: Okay.
Justin: I've got I've got like a pack.
Ash: Fright yeah that's just Brett's everyday life now.
Pat: I mean.
Bret: SNL a 22-page preparation packet we're going to have a real deep depressing America discussion today but instead I guess we're watching movies huh.
Sam: So I took.
Pat: Something tells me I'll be okay I don't know what it is but.
Sam: I took like an hour-long nap and I have no idea what happened to my husband during that hour is a different person.
Pat: But he's he is Sam Rose's record in the same day but not have our live show and Kuechly darken his day off we did have to kill a moose it was an evil Musso's possessed or had been like I was possessed or just I don't know it was evil is bad it was.
Ash: I mean.
Bret: Listen they said the previous or was evil too and we befriended him.
Pat: Yeah but the plesiosaur wasn't covered in blood from killing things like the moose was.
Justin: That was just.
Justin: It was in the finger painting and you are a murderer.
Pat: S*** it was standing right next to a barn is if it was a farmer moose and it was just trying to.
Ash: If you give a moose a muffin you might murder it.
Bret: Is that a saying if you give a moose a muffin.
Justin: Wait wait what.
Pat: It is.
Ash: Has this been wiped from your memory the last episode I quoted this as well it's a child's book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.
Sam: This is Brett and Pat's not Justin yes yes.
Justin: No I was here last episode I was just really quiet the whole time.
Bret: Gotcha.
Justin: Is it really.
Pat: The book is cuz it is given us a Cookie the follow-up is if you give a moose a muffin that is the the thing in the children's book.
Sam: She also wrote a book that came after.
Ash: You know I was trying to do a call back joke.
Bret: It doesn't work.
Ash: It went over really well.
Bret: It's with you don't you call backs no one no one has listened to any of this is to everyone's first episode always we completely erase our audience and get a new audience every episode every.
Justin: I will say that is how I listen to podcast and is the most satisfying thing I will like listen to contact numerous times I could not tell you a single thing for every time like.
Bret: We only have one constant in our let's watch universe and it's Mitch.
Ash: You remember you were on this one right.
Justin: I remember everything about the episode and nothing about the movie which I do believe.
Ash: Remember what we watched.
Justin: Iron Man 2.
Bret: Oh.
Pat: Justin Iron Man 2.
Bret: Yeah that one the forgettable one.
Pat: With Mickey Rourke as Doctor Octopus has asked that you thought he was.
Ash: Doctor Octopus.
Bret: Yeah yeah Doctor Octopus.
Pat: Bird.
Justin: Hey there was an F1 scene and couldn't the bird bird that was it allows that's all I got.
Bret: The one thing I always remember from that movie is that a roadie and Ironman both take off their helmets in the middle of a gunfight in the climax of the movie.
Justin: Complete IMCU banter where they has likes it back-to-back and then be like but not really but we're flirting.
Bret: Yep yep.
Justin: We just haven't admitted our feelings yet.
Bret: What are you watching today.
Bret: This is not this is not Pokemon 2000.
Pat: No.
Justin: Biohazard Japan.
Pat: Yeah we are watching Resident Evil Justin this is one of the ones you suggested anything any reason in particular you just really want to watch it again.
Justin: I hope.
Bret: Any any 9-foot tall giant butiti II reasons.
Justin: Am I am I allowed to say am I going to get in trouble if I say.
Bret: It's a safe space here.
Pat: You can say it.
Justin: Slick big mommy milkers might have been influencing.
Pat: You did some art of the lady herself.
Sam: I'm very confused right now.
Pat: Okay so.
Justin: Lady demet rest yeah cuz she's a lover giant woman who just loves her daughters and it's just trying to live a life and that's that's just a woman that I'm interested in.
Ash: There's no other reason.
Bret: Sam has seen men of any of this.
Pat: Yeah go on Twitter so.
Pat: For the past couple of months since the new Resident Evil game came out the internet has been on fire about one of the main villains who is this very very tall statue very well put together vampire-like Maven our friend of the show if he has is definitely one of the most vocal fans of of the lady who self.
Justin: What more could you want she actively wants you.
Pat: And it's it's a lot of yeah she has a legion of she has a legion of Internet simps out there.
Justin: And I am one of them.
Justin: It was.
Sam: She's Like A lactating Freddy Krueger.
Justin: Allah.
Justin: I'm worried that that is someone's tag on there like rule 34.
Bret: That Liam is that Sam is describing.
Ash: Oh sorry hold on.
Ash: Is she lactating.
Justin: Get to the audience Braddock showing action image on a video call of lady different rest and it is just so good.
Ash: Doesn't look like.
Justin: Don't know if that's a thing that she does.
Sam: You don't.
Ash: You've reminded me before.
Pat: Yeah big lady we are held off for yes we are recorded this right for the tail-end of I mean is it.
Bret: It's kind of held off button like by the time this come out comes out it's going to be so dated and yet.
Pat: I know.
Ash: Guys it's not her tail.
Pat: I mean her Tales pretty nice.
Justin: My favorite is the meme of Dr Grand casis stands up in like one of the trailers and somebody has a picture of dr. Grant from Jurassic Park just like doing the Triceratops away but it's just directly on her butt and I was like I've never felt more speed.
Ash: Okay.
Ash: And I did.
Justin: Haven't.
Bret: If you missed it and I hope most people have messed it it's the horniest thing that's been on the internet and a while just every single post is just gross.
Justin: I will say this as a is a person who spends their time on the internet quarantine opened up a lot of the world to my particular branch of the internet which is the same monster f****** and I'm just really excited that everyone just got as horny has a lot of the artists out there and just we welcome you with open arms with art giant giant.
Ash: You mean you're open tentacles.
Sam: Monster Hunter.
Ash: Mom.
Pat: New monster new game Monster f***** it just Monster Hunter Monster Hunter reskin day don't kill I know you don't kill the monsters except instead of killing or capturing the monsters used to do so.
Justin: Isn't that the Indy I'm 90ure that's no justice.
Pat: I mean.
Ash: FS 1 Brett place.
Bret: The app just tim-tim won't let us have any monster sex on screen.
Ash: Tim.
Justin: Because he's nervous about what it will awaken in him he's worried that because I too it's like a real-time so it's always just like moaning into the microphone.
Bret: That's not to say he hasn't actively tried several times to NPC romance my character did the campaign so far it's impossible my character is definitely the most walkable in the group.
Pat: And he's all about the wilfs.
Justin: Oh my goodness.
Pat: Widow's widows.
Bret: This isn't basis so if you don't watch our DND show this is probably like the most disturbing conversation we've ever had on the podcast.
Pat: Don't don't Sheamus.
Ash: Yeah obviously we should put like a warning at the beginning of this episode.
Justin: Sensitive content warning initials the same monster f*****.
Pat: Don't don't say much for talking about having feelings about big vampire lady okay.
Justin: I'm also a fan of the video games I just finished the remake of Resident Evil 3 which I've been like trying to find time to do is very exciting moment for me and cuz I love Jill Valentine I think she's in this movie I know she popped up in some of them I don't know cuz I haven't seen this movie in 20 years.
Pat: Well let's talk about it it is this movie that came out in 2002.
Sam: It's almost 20 years old that's crazy.
Justin: Austin Middle School.
Justin: Related.
Pat: It was it's actually very funny I love that we are doing this movie because we literally just touched on it very recently in a recent episode in our Mortal Kombat no because it was directed and written by Paul WS Anderson he's credited as a writer.
Ash: Oh.
Justin: Who who is dumb like he's done almost every single video game adaptation like movie ever like he just in Monster Hunter.
Ash: Wow.
Justin: How dare you.
Pat: Would you want to know why just we talked about this why he is mostly Resident Evil in particular he is so committed to it so he directed the very first Mortal Kombat movie which was a major financial success left did not do the sequel which is a piece of s*** to do Event Horizon which is a good movie you like.
Pat: Was their own Justin just dropped his camera and sonatas makeover do field Justin fields.
Ash: You're so passionate.
Pat: He feels that strongly about Mortal Kombat annihilation.
Pat: Justin.
Justin: And she again is another Mommy milker.
Pat: It's not good.
Bret: Email.
Pat: We'll watch it together but it's not good.
Bret: All right you said you said it you said it three times now and times I have I lost count no more of that word no more that phrase.
Pat: I said you could say it I didn't say you could would only say it.
Sam: I think your extra sensitive to it because I'm actively breastfeeding right now and.
Bret: Santa says please no stop at that please.
Justin: Oh my God.
Ash: Kink I don't want to introduce into my life thank you.
Sam: No thank you.
Justin: I'm crying.
Justin: Big mood.
Pat: She was disappointed that he did he didn't like Mortal Kombat annihilation in so he basically was like if I care about something and I and I start like start a franchise I'm going to stick with it so he like committed to doing that's why he's done I think every single Resident Evil.
Bret: That's so many.
Justin: I think the 9th one just came out and that was the last one.
Ash: What.
Justin: Yai.
Ash: Tyr God.
Pat: Y'all this is the.
Pat: Really I'm sure y'all this is.
Justin: Yeah I was just watching review wanted and it is a weird movie at this point O ya on the third movie.
Bret: You're the last one I watched was like 5 and I was like I don't know how we got here.
Ash: What.
Pat: You said.
Justin: Like at the White House and like the world is zombies in like it just cut like pants back and there's just like a million zombies and like flying ones and I remember being like I don't think I know what the hell happens next and I just didn't wash it.
Pat: You should have jumped the shark in the third one I think is Dexter V one that has it the zombie sharks in it so.
Bret: Fat Pat.
Justin: I don't know if that's a joke or not I really don't.
Ash: Resident Evil Sharknado number 10.
Pat: I'm just this is the most successful okay this is the most successful video game movie franchise.
Sam: Wow.
Justin: Is it really.
Pat: Financial aid all told.
Ash: Wow spell spell.
Pat: No I mean.
Bret: You say that like you're amazed but like what.
Justin: Has nine of them.
Pat: Yeah yeah yeah.
Bret: What's the other what's the other one.
Justin: Cuz I believe.
Pat: Exactly wait what Pokemon.
Justin: Sonic Sonic is the highest grossing video game movie of all time.
Sam: Wow.
Bret: Single movie.
Pat: Single movie.
Bret: The best there's ten of these.
Ash: Not the Pokemon one.
Ash: Wow.
Justin: Single movie has the highest detective Pikachu for a long time and thought until Sonic came out and there was like two big huge controversy of him looking like a human boy which was weird and then they actually hired artist to go in and like makes actual Sonic and then they like they just made him look like the cartoon.
Bret: Which which just goes to show that no matter how far you make it in Hollywood no matter how much or professional you are the fans can tell you you suck and then they'll make you redo your art.
Justin: The scariest thing on the planet which is why I'm come here as a listener by rebooting the show which is a Sonic Home Depot.
Pat: Someone has to question it does if you're gauging Pokemon only on the movies okay so nothing else it barely edges out Pokemon cuz that's like 1. 1 and change billion total in this is 1. 2.
Justin: Oh wow.
Ash: Wow wow.
Justin: Tell me more about your edging path.
Ash: You blew it.
Justin: Tell me how you blew your edges.
Pat: He's going to wait I know I was going to do a delayed thing I was going to do it like.
Justin: I have cursed the podcast and I am sorry.
Sam: What is this weird energy that we've got today.
Sam: Results.
Ash: I like it.
Ash: I'm on board.
Bret: I've been.
Justin: I posted internet are and Pat got an email about it and it's just been on his mind since and it just corrupted the entire cast.
Ash: It's been effective.
Bret: I've been focusing a lot of my energy recently on trying to make Pat laugh and I found that the thing that you just cannot avoid is horrifying sexual comments and.
Pat: Talk about this movie so have we all seen this movie.
Sam: No.
Justin: Yeah.
Bret: Yes what.
Justin: Wait really.
Ash: I think so.
Sam: Really.
Bret: I'm pretty sure we watch together.
Pat: This is one of my favorite recurring bits on the show.
Ash: Okay I was going to say feel like I remember is a have you seen it.
Justin: What is the premise of the show.
Ash: Someone else yeah.
Pat: Where one of the three of you asserts that you saw the movie with another one of the three of you and the other was like Noah.
Sam: I have not seen.
Bret: This movies.
Ash: This isn't really a spoiler but does it take place Underground.
Justin: Yes.
Bret: Yes.
Ash: Then yes I've seen this movie this is the only one I've seen.
Justin: It is the only one I remember I think I think I cuz I wash all the way up till like 5 or 6 and I kind of remember 3 cuz that was when they actually did Nemesis and I'm over that being a really big deal.
Bret: Yeah they did Nemesis but then they also reuse a bunch of footage from this movie.
Justin: How did they really.
Bret: Yeah.
Ash: Did they really.
Bret: That was five Nike it makes it one of them they brought the girl back and was like that's just the shot of the of the the girl.
Sam: Mia Milla Jovovich.
Justin: All white Milla Jovovich.
Ash: Jovovich Jovovich.
Pat: Wait just a night is that I should like to look that up is that I should have looked at up at those.
Justin: Yeah I was going to be kind of her she was one of my first celebrity crush.
Justin: Because because.
Bret: I thought it was Mel Gibson.
Bret: Oh really.
Pat: Really.
Pat: You want to f*** Harry.
Ash: You want to know mine will know not Mel Gibson yeah Daniel Radcliffe hey I was in like middle school or something okay yeah.
Justin: You didn't ask you.
Ash: He was like.
Sam: Mine was Aaron Carter.
Justin: Aaron Carter's a good one.
Sam: You officially.
Justin: Antonio Banderas with a big one for me and cuz I watch Desperado or really early a house just like this is awoken something in my body and I don't know what to do with it.
Sam: Officially have the best taste out of all of us.
Ash: Mean Antonio Banderas he awakens every everything and everyone's body.
Justin: Yeah yeah he's a babe not in this month.
Pat: No sew.
Ash: Even as a Puss in Boots and Shrek I mean you know it's still hot.
Ash: Irene you did you did talk about this earlier right.
Bret: If those boots.
Justin: What happens between me and the furries is between me and the furries all right.
Bret: It's everyone's favorite outfit boots belts nothing else.
Justin: He has a hat.
Bret: That's true.
Ash: Yeah and a sword figured until you're physically.
Pat: He does wear a belt with the question why does he wear a f****** belt.
Ash: For the sword.
Justin: Because he has a sword you're the one carry it can you imagine just can't freaking the store for 2 hours.
Pat: About the after the sword okay.
Justin: Musically guys I'm so tired and just prop up the camera like it'll be fine another cats prison and not the store.
Ash: The whole thing.
Pat: Interesting fact about this movie George A Romero was originally slated to Brighton Direct.
Bret: Really.
Justin: Really.
Sam: Who's who's that.
Ash: Wow that actually would have been awesome.
Pat: I am too much of a sissy.
Pat: Who played.
Bret: I booted it up and it's just like how long do we have to walk up these stairs.
Justin: And every single time you go up on God did a little animation.
Pat: I will.
Bret: For like 30 seconds.
Ash: Different yeah.
Pat: I don't I can't I will watch scary movies all day with I love watching them together I love watching scary movies with a group of people I really enjoy that I don't disturb video games cuz it's like I feel you're in it cuz you're controlling and it's just like no I don't ya.
Justin: I can't do the new ones like especially 7 it's so scary like you have like it's so it's just.
Ash: Bioshock's pretty scary though.
Justin: Oh my God me too me to buy socks Sears me.
Pat: Do you know what a sissy I am I found I didn't finish Bioshock I was scared of BioShock.
Ash: Yeah I.
Justin: I have a legitimate fear of the 1950s and my play BioShock 2 the first time no one told me.
Justin: I don't know.
Sam: Lake.
Ash: Creative jukeboxes with Mike.
Ash: Yeah.
Pat: Don't you.
Justin: Imagery of like nuclear family or just like that like old-timey music soaking creeps me out I feel like I'm going to die.
Pat: Don't you.
Justin: I.
Ash: So you do not play Fallout I'm guessing like at all fallout must be very hard for you.
Bret: Wow.
Justin: I think something's wrong with me because I did play Fallout 4 and remember when I had a computer.
Ash: Just blanked it out.
Justin: Clearly play Fallout.
Ash: What if that's the reason you're afraid of the 50s is Fallout was so intense.
Ash: Just creative.
Pat: So if I brought a fuk with you.
Bret: All I hear it in my brain is like the TECO internal monologue like everyone he's so white.
Pat: Okay.
Justin: Look I wasn't going to say it out loud to The Listener and sometimes.
Sam: It's like get out.
Justin: At looking at me he's bawling a goatee.
Justin: Only good news.
Pat: Yeah he left the project in 99 due to creative differences over the script I was dormant for a year before Paul WS Anderson signed on to write and direct he later claimed he wants locked himself in his apartment for four weeks while playing the first three games back-to-back became so obsessed with them he contacted his producer and tell him that had to make this series into a movie.
Ash: Wow.
Justin: They are not long.
Bret: It's interesting cuz those first three games only have 20 hours of combined content and it's just the 4 weeks of loading screens.
Pat: Maybe he's really shity Adam maybe just not good.
Ash: Oh no.
Justin: Yeah good game.
Bret: Howard Fisher.
Pat: So so you'll know this movie came out in 2002.
Pat: So the timing because this movie had a title originally.
Justin: I want to get I want to guess.
Sam: Adventist College.
Ash: The movie out of colon oscopy.
Pat: So.
Justin: I want to guess what the subtitle was.
Pat: Something that was in production right before 2002 what would be at the worst possible subtitle.
Justin: Resident Evil Ground Zero.
Bret: Goodness.
Pat: Yes you got it a thousand points.
Sam: Oh no no.
Ash: Oh no.
Pat: Okay Justin.
Ash: Cheater cheater.
Bret: No trivia facts stabbed close it.
Justin: I'm going to pull the curtain back a little bit and do admit that I have the IMDb page out because I did want to bring.
Pat: Don't look at the border do we have a game we play don't don't look at the box office stuff okay we do a game about that Nifty gas.
Justin: I didn't do that.
Ash: You will.
Bret: Also don't look at the trivia page cuz we met we added it that trivia segment later that's a game.
Pat: Yeah but.
Bret: Okay.
Pat: Yeah.
Justin: Fidelity only one I remember I admittedly I started looking at the movie and then said will surely what about the video game because I was just playing.
Pat: It was originally set to Star Sarah Michelle Gellar in Mia's.
Ash: Interesting I could see that.
Justin: The girl from Sabrina know that's Melissa Joan Hart nevermind.
Ash: No Buffy the girl from Busby.
Justin: Weird.
Pat: Yeah so.
Justin: I've been cool though.
Ash: It would have been cool.
Pat: I don't know but yeah.
Justin: How to make really cool.
Pat: Jennifer Love Hewitt Kirsten Dunst and Natasha Henstridge were some of the actresses considered to play Jill Valentine in the different scripts are being developed.
Ash: Could also see those.
Justin: Wait what she is she not in this movie or.
Pat: No Jill Valentine is not actually in this movie.
Justin: Oh I thought she was I know she pops up maybe in the third one then.
Pat: I'm pretty sure cuz in the cast there's no one in the cast list that is playing Jill Valentine.
Justin: Oh she's one of the main characters in the video game so I remember being like surely you'd want her as like the protagonist of this movie but.
Bret: Adventitious Mila walking around alone most the movie.
Pat: So let's talk about that.
Justin: Contemplating who's the real zombie is it Society or is it me.
Pat: Consumerism she is in this of course Michelle Rodriguez is in this.
Ash: Really.
Bret: She's really cool in this she's really cool.
Pat: Yeah.
Pat: And.
Justin: It's supposed to come out after Fast and the Furious then I think.
Pat: Right around.
Bret: Yeah.
Ash: 2002 yeah maybe was it 2001 I feel like was the first one.
Ash: I could be wrong.
Pat: He was at 1.
Pat: So.
Justin: Look at her and all these Mega franchises.
Ash: She's killing it.
Ash: Babies.
Justin: No no.
Pat: So James Purefoy is in this and then it's a ton of me it's a ton of faces you might recognize but not a lot of household names there's Eric baby as I just always remember him as the jockey dude who is mabeus I just remember him as the jockey dude from Cruel Intentions who is secretly gay who they like blackmail and it doing something is Greg no no one else remembers Cruel Intentions.
Bret: Remember now.
Sam: I've never seen it.
Ash: No memory sorry.
Pat: What okay what you have never seen it cuz I feel like that movie burns on your brain.
Bret: Let's next time then.
Ash: We didn't we do it I thought we did that movie did we not.
Bret: That doesn't sound no I don't think so.
Ash: That feels like a movie we would do with Holland.
Pat: And then there's a guy Colin salmon or samon he is not again this really household name but you'll recognize him as always being someone who's like in the tactical response unit of any kind of lots of Supernatural action type movies.
Bret: You have a rest resting toxic masculinity face.
Pat: Announcer that's as far as super Jason Isaacs has a small very small roll heat that's Lucius Malfoy draco's dad.
Sam: Hello.
Justin: What is he really.
Justin: I can tell you we play.
Pat: I mean he plays dr. William Birkin / the narrator.
Pat: Apparently.
Justin: Perkins in this movie sorry I was just playing the game and he's like a big point in Brazil sorry I didn't know he was.
Pat: Well let's Jump Right In then and do that while the other pre watch trivia is this kind of kicked off a frenzy of Studios again trying to adapt like horror video games cuz after this in the wake of this thing being successful Doom Silent Hill and Max Payne where all the movie rights were all snapped up by various Studios and those all work great.
Pat: Yeah yeah yeah yes.
Justin: It was actually good.
Bret: Well okay Silent Hill is maybe the best video game movie and maybe one of the better horror movies ever made like it's such a good movie.
Ash: Really.
Pat: True that's fair.
Sam: It's very good.
Justin: Yeah so he'll what actually slap yeah it's good they also yeah.
Pat: Is it.
Ash: Oh Silent Hill sorry I thought you said this film is like I wouldn't say this is one of the better horror films.
Pat: Is it better than the Mark Wahlberg Max Payne.
Justin: I refuse to watch that movie out of president.
Ash: I didn't know that exist.
Pat: So I actually like that kind of like that Hitman movie with Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47 I mean I like anything Timothy Olyphant does like you can do know I love him.
Bret: Are you going to use to cosplay as Agent 47.
Pat: I can do that now I think I don't want to go clean shaven though.
Justin: Meet theoretically we can all cosplay Agent 47.
Bret: True true.
Ash: If you try hard enough if you believe inside.
Pat: How much money insert money game jingle here.
Bret: Ding ding ding.
Pat: How much money do we think.
Ash: Perfect so glad we paid so much money for that jingle.
Bret: Yeah oh yeah we the sound guy gets paid so much for this show.
Pat: How much money do we think this cost to make.
Sam: What that was that that was a confident answer.
Justin: Yeah.
Ash: Yeah it was it was.
Bret: It just sounds right it just feels like it just feels like the space that this is in.
Sam: I just cuz we've got the energy going I'm going to read guest 69 or my last episode.
Pat: Maze.
Justin: Nice.
Ash: Oh nice I say 65.
Justin: I'm going to lowball it 837.
Sam: Wow.
Justin: I don't remember this movie be.
Sam: Wow.
Ash: Really.
Bret: 33.
Pat: Argestes the winner 3333.
Justin: 33.
Ash: Wow.
Ash: Yeah.
Ash: There's so many sets.
Pat: Well I got some trivia stuff or after watch that might explain some of that.
Justin: Okay.
Pat: How much money cumulative worldwide gross.
Bret: I think this is the more interesting one because I'm pretty sure this was like very successful.
Ash: I mean they made nine right so.
Sam: That's true.
Justin: They're at least making 30 million back.
Bret: Aec they made 9 but whatever I always feel like I need to bring up like funeral they still at Adam Sandler make movies and.
Bret: You know that as long as they make any amount of money they got to make another one.
Bret: Unknowable.
Justin: Maybe they're all sequel.
Bret: There are some good ones.
Ash: If only there was an Internet Movie Database.
Sam: I would guess with this made 120 million.
Ash: How to say 90.
Pat: Justin again hundred and thirty million.
Bret: 103.
Sam: I don't know if somebody's ever won both guesses before.
Ash: Yeah I don't think so.
Pat: I don't either that close to.
Sam: Wow.
Ash: Well done.
Pat: With in like less than 10.
Sam: Yeah.
Justin: Stop both of my answers were very wrong.
Bret: She just has got his finger on the pulse of Hollywood.
Justin: No it just feels like.
Sam: Of 2002 Hollywood.
Pat: But what.
Justin: I remember I remember the Earley not yesteryear I just feel like I don't know like that kind of money I remember like movies making like a hundred and fifty thousand.
Bret: Was that.
Pat: Tough like Titanic in Jurassic Park.
Bret: Okay what was that domestic or worldwide patch.
Pat: That was worldwide.
Justin: Maybe yeah.
Ash: Yeah.
Bret: Okay yeah cuz I was like some of some of the shows we've done recently where we stopped doing the domestic numbers but like I feel like for a long time you only ever heard about domestic numbers when they reported it like if you saw a thing and so it always felt like the numbers were low but then we've been doing our recent episode it's like so if you take out the worldwide worldwide made like three times as much as domestic so.
Pat: I mean I have it here it was.
Ash: It's almost like the world is bigger than the US.
Justin: I don't believe it for a moment.
Pat: Play this is America.
Bret: Madison talk.
Pat: Until about Mila and Paul WS Anderson.
Bret: What's your last name.
Ash: Give me my last name.
Pat: Jovovich Jovovich Jovovich Jovovich Jovovich f*** you.
Justin: Yeah it's like.
Ash: Here now he said it three times.
Pat: She and father has Anderson got engaged shortly after this movie.
Bret: Really.
Ash: Oh.
Justin: I believe he was married.
Pat: And they have two kids now.
Sam: Wow.
Ash: Are they still together.
Justin: Yeah that's why he's cheating every one of his movies including Monster Hunter.
Bret: That's fun.
Ash: That's adorable.
Ash: How cute.
Bret: That's like hey you want to like you want to go shoot some zombies today and she's like heck yeah but.
Ash: Yeah.
Pat: Did she did he do ultraviolet.
Justin: Oh I don't know actually.
Ash: No no I hope not.
Justin: I remember.
Ash: A movie so terrible.
Pat: What you don't like the square sword.
Ash: So bad.
Justin: It was so cool I don't know you like I like that movie.
Pat: I like the square or I like the square sword thing with the reflective runic carvings of the side of it.
Justin: And then like the reloading done and like the bullets of going into the gun.
Pat: No.
Bret: Slipspace I do remember that movie at all.
Ash: She literally Shake someone and ask them if they're damaged in that movie.
Ash: It's ridiculous yes it's.
Ash: So dumb.
Pat: Yeah it's cuz they like their detached from like their Commander is directed and written by someone named Kurt Wimmer.
Justin: I've no idea.
Pat: But yeah.
Justin: Mr. Anderson I don't care.
Pat: Okay so do we decide I've seen it just seen it but you said you seen it Ashton Sam you're like actually think you've seen it.
Pat: Okay Samuel.
Ash: Seen it if it takes place underground I've seen.
Pat: Have not your pretty sure you've not seen it okay.
Justin: I wish the viewers can see the expression that same as giving Pat or she's just like.
Bret: That you don't you don't know anything about this movie if raccoons mean nothing to you.
Sam: What's the track.
Pat: An entire city of them.
Sam: What lake lake rocket from guardians.
Justin: Second movie.
Ash: That's really not fair that's like 5 Seconds at the end no it's no.
Justin: Umbrella mean anything to you.
Sam: Like Mary.
Bret: Yeah I like that.
Ash: No she's not seeing this movie.
Justin: Yeah Mary Poppins it's a little weird but yeah.
Ash: I said it's a zombie movie basically.
Sam: Yeah cuz I mean okay that was my guess going into it and it just sounds really odd.
Ash: Now there's just listen to this.
Justin: Make so much sense to you in an hour and a half.
Bret: I'm just you know I'm trying to relive the magic of that time pat did the word cloud for Ghost Dog and just was like.
Pat: Do that more.
Ash: We should totally.
Bret: Pigeons in a sec the f***.
Justin: Poop.
Pat: Oh okay for pot keywords I already got it off the off the Dome the new segment absurd cloud.
Justin: Might need some work on the name but we'll take it.
Bret: Workshopping the title.
Ash: Is this raccoon umbrella Mommy milker.
Justin: We are very long tongue there is an extremely long tongue in this one.
Bret: In this one.
Ash: I don't remember that I remember the dogs though.
Justin: Yeah there's a big long time.
Pat: Well Liquors that they're called.
Bret: Jimmy Jimmy long times in this one that's the bestest fan named Jimmy long time.
Pat: Jimmy is it is it brat.
Pat: I'm actually.
Justin: Alameda street let me just Google that really quick and I would love to say my internet history destroyed but it just says welcome back.
Bret: Dino DNA.
Pat: I'm really glad I'm so glad this is brought out though because I'm looking at and so the 250 but there's a few that are listed and I imagine they think those are the most relevant right which is whatever is on like the neon expanded part of IMDb rightly go there's a spot keywords like five of them and then cl250 so you're not going to f****** believe what these these five words.
Pat: Doberman.
Bret: Okay.
Pat: Some phrases cut into pieces.
Bret: Papa Roach.
Justin: Papa roach's in this one.
Pat: Commando I'm in the last one here unlike the front page of these bottle keywords is the phrase kissing while having sex.
Justin: Look at that romantic best romantic.
Ash: I don't remember that part of the movie.
Bret: I don't think that fits in high up in the word cloud list here.
Justin: This episode is very erotic and I don't remember how.
Bret: Will you eat we said how about Resident Evil and you replied mommy milkers mommy milkers.
Justin: I know I said pick pick me up I need to change it.
Justin: That's going to be someone.
Ash: Oh wow definitely.
Bret: You know what's funny is that we we transcribed the show now so now it's all of these words are going to be forever associated with your name in The Goo.
Justin: Oh that's fine that's more than fine.
Justin: I want to get a second when Elena gets a second.
Bret: Resident Evil Survivor.
Pat: The horror.
Justin: Resident Evil zombies always eat out.
Pat: Survive the horror.
Justin: Pacific.
Bret: Resident Evil.
Pat: It's a secret spearmint a deadly virus a fatal mistake.
Bret: That sucks.
Justin: The first one was more fun I liked I like hours all together collectively it was much more fun.
Sam: I agree.
Justin: Really they should have made this one whole thing more erotic.
Sam: No there's probably a pouring out there of Resident Evil.
Ash: Oh I'm sure.
Bret: What was the word cloud that should have been the tagline Resident Evil kissing on them.
Ash: Burnside.
Pat: It didn't say kissing on the mouth but.
Justin: I'm terrified of the idea of us watching this movie and like a zombie as a titty out like.
Justin: It was 2002 lyrics.
Bret: I feel like that probably doesn't happen in this what's it rated.
Ash: Yeah.
Bret: Okay.
Pat: The studio wanted to do PG-13 but they were like Anderson was no you can't.
Bret: That's got to be it's got to be r44 the lasers.
Ash: Police.
Pat: No laser starts with an L.
Bret: Good grief great googly moogly.
Justin: No Google only watch movie.
Pat: Prediction.
Justin: Biggest movie f****** slabs.
Bret: Yeah.
Justin: I predicted that I'm going to have a good time I don't know why cuz I used to watch the commentary a bunch and have a good time like like when I was watching as a little kid I feel like I'm going to enjoy it again.
Bret: I agree.
Ash: You remember a lot of it.
Justin: I Remember quotes from the commentary I don't remember the movie.
Bret: Yeah I think I'm going to enjoy watching it this time around just because I think there was a bunch of stuff I like movies where there's stuff that they bring that's new and everyone I know in Hollywood whenever I say omage is I don't like it and this movie brought a lot of stuff that was Jean or that constantly feels like there's stale new content or they just like this is just a classic movie that you've redone with a new camera like this movie brought a bunch of new stuff and a to be fair it was from the videogame visualized it and brought it into the live-action I think it's really cool and I think a lot of stuff from this movie since then stylistically including the eighths equals four things that feel like they would have been new in 2002 and I'm curious how much of it actually a dozen that being.
Ash: Weather.
Sam: I was just going to say that yeah.
Bret: I wonder how much of this is going to be you know zombie omage vs original Ip but I like it because I remember being.
Justin: Her kicking the dog.
Bret: The dog tick.
Justin: Yeah the big dog.
Ash: Yeah I think you bring up a really good point like I feel like I haven't seen a zombie movie necessarily like this since like even like the fact that it takes place underground is like really interesting and and there's there's some like iconic moments but I do remember like with the dogs that definitely stick in your brain I wasn't I wasn't going to say it but.
Pat: It's it's it's okay Sam it says it's it's it's an it's an evil zombie dogs.
Ash: It's a zombie dog but yeah it's definitely crazy it also was The Matrix before this cuz it feels slightly.
Justin: It would have been 99 for the Matrix.
Bret: Yes Matrix cuz 99 so that scene.
Bret: Definitely a little of Matrix omage.
Ash: Yeah it feels influence.
Justin: Yep.
Ash: Totally yeah it's a little influence by The Matrix a Bolson like clothing styles a little bit to like a toned-down version but yeah it's it's an interesting movie I've ever played the video games and so like even when I saw the movie the raccoon stuff meant nothing to me and I don't really feel like I remember them explaining a lot of that like I just remember at the end of the movie everyone being like Oh my God can you believe that the game's interested if like I'll still feel that way.
Justin: Yeah cuz like I play the games since they first came out and like I remember watching this movie and being upset that it wasn't like the games and now I'm like excited.
Ash: Yeah yeah cuz it's funny cuz like the idea of like a virus causing a zombie outbreak feel so Tropi now but back then it wasn't so yeah but I think I'll enjoy it I remember liking this movie when I saw.
Justin: Yeah.
Pat: Brazil I got like an engineered virus right like a lab accident like.
Ash: Right yeah.
Pat: But I think it's really solid I think it's going to be entertaining enjoy it I think they're going to do some real gnarly scenes for good and bad.
Ash: I don't remember it.
Pat: You will yeah.
Justin: You'll get there.
Ash: The Whitehall Way.
Pat: You'll see you'll just get there.
Ash: Okay yeah yeah yeah.
Bret: It's this movie has a little bit of a acute vibe.
Pat: Q.
Justin: Yeah you're right.
Ash: Yes yes I was going to say that to which one came out first.
Justin: Q.
Bret: Was from like the 80s one that maybe not.
Pat: Not that old.
Ash: Cute.
Justin: No I think was 90 early 90s.
Bret: It is maybe 90s okay.
Ash: 1997.
Pat: I'll find out but to be solid very much net positive.
Sam: Disturbia like sexy Matrix with zombies.
Ash: Nail it pretty much.
Bret: The Matrix might have been sexier but we'll find out.
Pat: Yeah yeah I think that's.
Ash: Yeah that's true.
Justin: Carrie-Anne Moss.
Sam: What is just zombie interesting.
Bret: I think the leather is tighter in The Matrix.
Sam: Really.
Ash: Yeah.
Sam: Okay now I don't know what to expect.
Justin: I don't want to go down that rabbit hole again.
Ash: I guess it depends on what turns you on cuz you know if you're into that.
Pat: We talked about that enough the top of the show.
Justin: Alright.
Bret: Alright well I guess we're going to Pasta recording and go see if we could survive the horrors of Resident Evil.
Pat: OU.
Bret: Close to midnight something Evil's lurking in the dark.
Sam: That's good keep God.
Pat: Did you have something repaired.
Pat: Get more lyrics did you have like.
Ash: Keep going.
Pat: Understand the real lyrics.
Bret: Under the moon.
Ash: Thriller.
Pat: I know you're doing the real I thought you might do like a parody like what I had was.
Justin: Oh yeah he I joined the chat he came in Swinging with a parody.
Ash: Go for it.
Pat: Tiktok tiktok.
Ash: A boy a boy.
Sam: Blow that explains why every person who really liked metal was kind of a douchebag.
Bret: Like Slipknot I guess I was kind of a douchebag.
Sam: It took me a really long time okay.
Ash: You you're just getting this.
Justin: Jewelry.
Ash: It said yeah.
Sam: You also like jazz I'm talking about the guys that only like metal.
Bret: Slipknot enjaz that's my jam.
Justin: Yeah that's where I was going.
Pat: Look funny.
Justin: You know you never get that.
Bret: I was a jazz musician.
Justin: It's not about the slips you not it's about the slips you don't not.
Bret: Yeah yeah that's what they say.
Ash: Sir.
Bret: I was I was the Sexy Sax Man.
Sam: He was.
Justin: What is.
Bret: Is I still I still play I have it in the basement.
Ash: I would love.
Sam: And I still play you made you took it out for years ago.
Bret: What's the weather.
Sam: Excellent.
Justin: I'm going to go on YouTube there has to be.
Ash: I would love to see I mean the jazz version of Slipknot please.
Ash: Right.
Bret: I mean I feel like there's like that probably like a Richard Cheese.
Sam: Yeah.
Ash: I don't know who that is.
Sam: He.
Ash: I don't.
Bret: Show me some Richard Cheese is down with the sickness.
Justin: Oh yeah.
Ash: He does like the piano versions right.
Justin: I will have you know it is Richard she is who is doing the Slipknot covers.
Bret: Certainly.
Ash: Of course of course.
Justin: Wow.
Sam: The SpongeBob version was pretty great.
Ash: Good for him.
Pat: Did you just do big band I like everything.
Bret: Yeah basically I can't listen to two in a row but every once in awhile.
Ash: Yeah.
Justin: I I loved it I was very excited I found it very hard to see anyting I was excited to see Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine and the dogs attacking them they run into the mansion and then they lose Barry automatically and then you get to choose whether you're playing as Chris or G.
Ash: Wait a minute yeah okay.
Bret: Did you somehow play the entire game while we watch the movie.
Pat: Lottery game.
Justin: Just better at it.
Pat: Podcast.
Ash: That would be incredible.
Justin: Display the movie star.
Pat: For the game.
Ash: We buy boyfriend I looked up the trailer the original trailer 2 and they like Shot full live action footage for it it's a treat like definitely look it up it's amazing yeah.
Pat: Brett you talk about the show being too lots of times where we talked about a video game pause recording go play the entire video.
Justin: Oh my God.
Pat: Takes 24 hours to record an episode.
Justin: 30.
Ash: Wow that would be a commitment there would be like months in between you know of like okay I finally beat the game I don't even remember what my predictions were.
Justin: I would love it to be like a fool 3-hour podcast to that comes out like once every 6 months for like one game.
Ash: Wow.
Ash: I haven't played it either.
Bret: I've been wanting to do something like that where I play Mass Effect for the first time because I played 10 minutes to Mass Effect and I got so angry at that game and.
Justin: Katydid.
Bret: I was playing it wrong cuz the person I was playing with was like no no you're not supposed to run by that person have important information. Why would they put them there if they wanted me to talk to them they should have like what the why would I do that in the middle of this Mission I'm on my way I stopped and talked to a dude anyway I feel like that would be a very fun.
Justin: You me and Ash and start free game with Mass Effect I think it would work.
Ash: Yes.
Sam: Free game not replay.
Bret: Yeah we got to get our buddy from the network Matt storm on and we can really upset him he's he has a whole Mass Effect podcast.
Ash: Replay.
Pat: Yeah he's big fan.
Justin: Oh that's right I forgot about that I used to listen to.
Pat: We have not talked about this movie at all yet.
Pat: Dick's store.
Ash: No I mean.
Bret: Can we add we won't Pat that's the new show format it's over.
Justin: We talked about movie of Jason thing.
Pat: I want the opening scene the guy gets a coffee.
Justin: With Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine and they're being attacked.
Pat: Okay yes no other movie of the filum Justin of the Cinematic.
Justin: Motion video.
Ash: Filem.
Pat: Woolworths stop motion.
Justin: Computer graphics.
Ash: It's not stop motion yeah.
Pat: Yeah in your face Bratz.
Justin: Oh oh.
Pat: Turn around look at the corner for five minutes.
Bret: I don't even know how stop-motion is not full. Guess it it still moves around.
Ash: Because it's 12 frames instead of 24.
Bret: This was the framerate.
Justin: Now we're doing 60 frame.
Pat: Nerds.
Ash: Yeah but it's half motion about it.
Justin: Oh my God you are.
Bret: Yeah.
Ash: You asked man.
Justin: I just want to listen to a still more smoothie facts tell me more.
Bret: What's what's worse than like a dad joke is a f****** movie dad joke about frame rates for you.
Ash: I wasn't joking it's a fact.
Pat: What.
Justin: The opposite of dad jokes is mom fat.
Pat: What did the.
Pat: What did the criminal who was caught on tape safe for his defense.
Bret: Wattpad.
Pat: I was framed.
Bret: No.
Pat: Framed in the shop.
Sam: I know.
Sam: Surprise.
Ash: Yeah.
Justin: It was shockingly 2002 CGI it was glorious when that liquor pops out I was like oh you do not exist in neither digital nor realspace.
Justin: Yeah.
Bret: There is nothing that we seen some movies that have real bad CG and sometimes it works and there's one shot in this world work where they had it crawling across the wall and the background in the dark and I was like there you go if you know ucgs bad. Just don't highlight it.
Pat: Why wouldn't you just get like a Doug Jones type in like a suits like crawl along.
Justin: They had practical the Practical is there for shots.
Sam: And it looks great.
Ash: Yeah.
Pat: Cuz like yeah cuz like that what that that creature except for the tongue wasn't really doing anything that was super physics law to find you can get a person crawling along a surface in a cool suit.
Pat: No I'm intentionally trying not to I'm trying to make this second half of the show less horny.
Bret: That's BS.
Sam: Not not the cunnilingus killer like I had said.
Bret: That's the Samuel Henry Cavill show the liquor.
Sam: Don't you bring Henry into this.
Pat: I mean if it's Henry Cavill.
Ash: Tulsa coin to your liquor.
Pat: Liquor liquor.
Justin: Oh man.
Justin: I'm crying.
Sam: Hahaha.
Ash: I want to show.
Ash: Haha.
Pat: In the opening scene the guided reading coffee did she just go to work.
Bret: Imagine.
Bret: Okay it wasn't clear that they lived there.
Bret: I was thinking.
Ash: Okay so here's the thing they live there they live underground he's at work and at home at all times no they said it multiple times.
Bret: Okay.
Pat: Yeah they said it they literally said it they live there.
Ash: They definitely said it but they lived and works there.
Bret: Okay I imagine that you had to take a 20-minute elevator ride to change shirts as I can.
Pat: But.
Justin: No that's why they talk about in that sequence where they're in the elevator he's flirting with the girl that like the stick the background you see the skyline like it's all fake pictures.
Ash: Yeah.
Bret: Which is like I saw that when I was a kid that would be cool but if my window was a better window.
Justin: Yeah we we are we don't have thoughts when we were younger.
Ash: I mean the how much would how much would someone have to pay you to not only work underground but you live there as well.
Justin: Working comic books I am living that life.
Bret: Says the video editor.
Justin: This is my first time living on the second floor of a building because he just needed to be closer to the sky.
Ash: Right yeah.
Pat: I just depends on the amenities at a like to think they got like a bang and Spa and like like maybe they have a whole fake Town Center with a fake sky.
Ash: And restaurants I mean it didn't seem like it.
Sam: Like a boozy saltmine that's what you want Pat.
Justin: Fuji.
Justin: No I work in comic books what makes you think I can go there.
Pat: Yes or like you're going to the Venetian in Vegas worth like the second floor is like really talk or the ceiling so we high and painted like the sky and those real birds.
Ash: He's only been to San Diego.
Sam: Yeah.
Ash: Oh yeah yeah.
Pat: And it feels like you're outside but you're inside I mean you know you're inside but it kind of it's like 5 0. 000000eels like you're outside like Parks like this.
Ash: Yeah.
Justin: I'm going to say no only because umbrella isn't evil Corporation and I feel like they wouldn't do that later thing would be like.
Pat: Is it it's more like it's more like that Black Mirror episode we just go to a little pod put on virtual reality and that your downtime is in virtual reality.
Bret: Don't make me talk about black.
Justin: No this is 2002 got no VR you go onto neopets. Com.
Pat: Are they made I don't know zombie tongue monster things.
Ash: That's the same technology for sure.
Justin: Yeah I'll take all science overlap and you just have to be good at 1 to do it all.
Pat: I'm saying I think it's not the same technology I'm just saying one is objectively easier than the other.
Ash: That's like doctors write.
Ash: Sorry.
Justin: Tell us more about how you think science is easy and can easily be done.
Bret: Where did you say you could make all that stuff okay.
Pat: No I'm just saying if you put all the equipment in front of me in a room and locked me and I have no knowledge of other thing I could make VR or a monster like a genetic like monster thing but you said here's all the stuff no I cannot I'm saying I can't been saying put lock me in a warehouse no lock me in a warehouse.
Pat: No.
Ash: 202.
Bret: Lock pad in a warehouse with chemicals and see what happens.
Pat: Something if you if you did that and you said you have everything here to either figure out how to make monster or make a virtual reality headset I feel like I mean it would probably take me like the rest of my wife cuz I'm big f****** knucklehead but I feel like I have a better shot making the VR headset.
Justin: I'm going to say no I feel like making the monster would be the easier one only because it is 2021 and we still just now have like vr-tek to dirt.
Bret: Yeah the accident monsters is how it goes.
Sam: I think it depends what you're starting equipment is.
Bret: Well.
Justin: That wasn't my favorite part in this movie The Dude like the like the Peace Corps guy is like talking to me like she's just like viral and I was like those things are illegal.
Sam: Yeah.
Bret: One of those was illegal for a why I don't remember actually what the genetics research.
Justin: Oh yes no genetic wasn't for a while.
Bret: I mean there's there's like an entire category of illegal genetic research that was briefly legal animate illegal again and then I don't know if it's legal anymore.
Bret: Everybody's mad at it.
Ash: Has cloning.
Justin: Not again.
Sam: Yeah didn't Barbra streisand cloned her dead dog or something.
Justin: Yeah like 2010.
Ash: Oh well I mean has anyone checked on cloning is cloning fine you can check on Clinton.
Bret: Who's got a who in the audience is a cloned so you can tweet at us at let's re-watch.
Justin: Can I clone my dog reasons why you shouldn't clone your dog okay.
Bret: Did you get strong like this is probably what it feels like to work at Amazon vibes from that movie.
Justin: I was thinking about that I was like it's so weird that umbrella is the name of the evil Corporation and then like the movie ended middle like.
Pat: Jeffrey Bezos.
Bret: Like like I can.
Ash: I mean it's weird that it's umbrella and it's weird that like the city's name is Raccoon City to me it's like these feel like Disney names and yet it's a Zombie World why is it called Raccoon City.
Ash: No nobody else.
Ash: Oh interesting.
Justin: I couldn't give you because all the other ones take place in real places and like Hong Kong.
Justin: Raccoon City.
Sam: I honestly.
Bret: It was a video game thing I don't know but.
Sam: Yeah I feel like it makes it a more believable scenario as a viewer because if it's like Washington DC that sets up a baseline of what you know about that City but when it's a fake City you don't know anything about it and what its you know something like that's kind of generic you know like Princeville or something like then you can make connections.
Ash: That's just ridiculous.
Justin: Actually that's Raccoon City just not raccoon.
Bret: I mean I don't know maybe not in it yet there's hell hell Minnesota you can go to hell.
Bret: Boring Oregon that's the town next door.
Sam: There's Boring Oregon like.
Ash: Both are still not the animals that go through my trash.
Justin: What lake is also they do blow it up.
Bret: I just I just feel like in 2002 maybe you needed to have a sound called Raccoon City and a fake evil Corporation.
Justin: Now that was that was in the video game that's just like the 90s.
Ash: 1998 yeah.
Justin: Okay it will hear anyone else.
Bret: Pfeiffer believability reasons you know like it's this is a wild story it's got to be in Raccoon City cuz this isn't going to happen in Seattle 2021 it would happen in Seattle you know I just I don't know now I'm stuck in Loop of thinking like this is actually really was Amazon documentary like they open the film with their products during everyone's homes but secretly they've got facial recognition technology that they're loaning to the police and they have a warehouse full of unknown b******* and their workers are treated poorly and would probably be slaughtered if anything ever went wrong inside one of the buildings like I fully believe it.
Ash: What.
Sam: And this is the week that Amazon if you don't opt out of it will auto share all of your with passerby is that also use Amazon.
Pat: Oh okay.
Justin: What.
Ash: That saying.
Pat: Afterwards Griffin do that.
Ash: That's right.
Sam: Yep.
Bret: It didn't everybody do that apple had that also.
Pat: But side note.
Ash: No I think this is a little different.
Bret: That's it that's how hold on wait it's not different.
Justin: Oh my God every time I work in cyberpunk and somehow our will the Sprint faster towards the cyberpunk dystopian world and then I can write.
Justin: Thank God.
Sam: Alvin.
Bret: That's how then the new does new Apple tags work.
Justin: Oh you're right.
Sam: Oh really.
Bret: Yeah the Apple tags only work because because they everyone's Wi-Fi network and location is is stored on Apple servers so when she picks up a signal with a certain name and identify that it's like in the area with the other names that tells you exactly where it is cuz Apple nose Everywhere You Are.
Ash: It's Bluetooth it's not your Wi-Fi.
Justin: The raccoon says they've made their own civilization.
Bret: Ashed it's not.
Ash: It sounds like something out of a Studio Ghibli film like it doesn't feel like it matches.
Pat: I mean.
Bret: It wasn't an English but we grew up next to Vacaville Cowtown.
Pat: Counterpoint if you aren't evil Corporation.
Bret: Is Cowtown.
Ash: That's not it doesn't say Cowtown.
Pat: No I would argue.
Justin: But that's what makes it worse.
Ash: I'm not saying you can't have a town named raccooncity in some sort of story what is saying is is Raccoon City sounds like a Mario or like Disney or like Studio Ghibli name and tonally it doesn't fit this movie or video game at all and it's so weird that's what I'm say.
Pat: I would argue at work cuz if you're an evil Corporation you're not going to name your city f****** Shadow death till you all City you're going to name it something cheeky you're going to do like something innocent.
Ash: The corporation didn't name the city.
Bret: Yeah raccoon city was the city above.
Ash: The corporation did not name the city.
Pat: Yes I did it's owned but yes I did it's owned by the city is on.
Ash: No.
Ash: Yeah yeah.
Justin: No it it it was on it was its own thing and then I learned little catalog Evil 3 and then like bought off like the police and the mayor there like.
Pat: I believe.
Sam: So it's Amazon it's legit Amazon.
Justin: The movie and the movie as Amazon says you watch Resident Evil 1 it's time for you to watch Resident Evil 2 this sequel to the hundred million dollar movie.
Pat: I didn't know if Vision us talking about wreck before we actually know what let's just do this and get this in this let's play lion DB right now and then we'll get into the movie.
Bret: IMDb.
Justin: Melinda not all facts.
Pat: So Justin I'm going to say 3 facts about this movie trivia facts and they're all facts except one is not there all facts except the one that isn't.
Pat: I made one up okay.
Pat: Alright ready.
Pat: Definite absolute true fact number one all the minor cuts and bruises on me Leo versus fake character are real.
Pat: No makeup was applied definite for sure real fact number two when shooting the infamous hallway scene The Used Blue string attached to Dolly's to help the actors visualize the placement of the lasers and then the visual effects team painted the laser effect over the string.
Justin: That sounds right.
Sam: That sounds legit.
Pat: Definite real fact number three it was a crew members birthday on the last day of filming and to celebrate the cast and crew got drunk and it basically shot the final scene of the film while drunk.
Justin: Jokes on you Pat I watch the director's commentary of this movie more time.
Pat: Okay well that was just your sisters.
Justin: Am I not supposed to get.
Pat: Do you guess which one you think is not true.
Sam: Now you have to go last if you know.
Sam: Yeah.
Sam: That's my guess.
Ash: Definitely to make up one.
Justin: Is not true.
Bret: Testout yassa makeup on.
Justin: Really.
Pat: I made up the string.
Sam: What's really good.
Bret: Oh so Milla Jovovich just hella clumsy.
Ash: Wow.
Pat: Yeah.
Pat: At maybe from stunts I don't know.
Ash: Or she just had those scars.
Justin: I know she did all her stunts I know that.
Bret: That's a while.
Sam: Yes.
Ash: Oh wow.
Justin: Let me do it.
Bret: Wow.
Ash: I love that.
Pat: Because I mean I could see her logic cuz she got the the the antivirus but it was enough to fully cure her but it was enough to like maybe keep her cognitive function.
Justin: I was going to say just from how many times that girl got bit that girl got bit like a hundred.
Ash: What was the saying when the computers like yeah you get bit by them and then you turned into them and I was like why is there follow-up question not and how long does that take because this b**** over here has been f****** bit and we need to know like nobody asked how long.
Ash: Yeah.
Justin: Four times and then she still taking it.
Bret: Yeah.
Sam: But then she had like a countdown timer on her clock.
Ash: That's true.
Justin: Alexa.
Pat: Put also apparent they didn't cuz it wasn't that big a deal for the doors to steal clothes because apparently they just open them right back up cuz the doctor that was Jason Isaacs you never saw his face who is like it is like we're opening The Hive back up and it's like we'll wait there still like what there's still a lot of okay.
Ash: Yeah.
Pat: You know what he's a republican Governor during a pandemic it's like it's over it's done we did it we're opening a backup.
Justin: Think it is.
Ash: Before we move on to far from makeup I was curious if you have any facts about the dogs because that looks like real makeup on the dogs like real effects.
Bret: Oh yeah.
Justin: It must have been.
Pat: I did not.
Bret: It totally look real.
Ash: Right and they copy and pasted.
Justin: I feel like it was also just the one. I think it was just like no one dog and then that's being yeah and then like me or something.
Sam: It did it looked really good.
Ash: Yeah it looks really good.
Pat: Yeah I literally I'm I'm scanning again I saw nothing that you would think that be definitely one of the things that talk about like how they did that visit on here.
Bret: It looked practical for sure.
Justin: How many practical things or was.
Justin: Is there dog.
Bret: Okay but like.
Ash: I was like how do we go how do we go from this terrible tongue creature cg2 these dogs that looks fantastic like the juxtaposition is so rough.
Bret: Also the the two times we got to see the Practical liquor.
Justin: Way other field do anything that should not be done.
Bret: But like that the Practical version of that thing looked awesome and I was like why did they only have it there and not moving in the window.
Ash: Yeah.
Sam: Cuz it wasn't a whole liquor.
Sam: Yeah exactly.
Ash: Yeah I don't know cuz they probably didn't build the whole thing yeah.
Justin: Big mommy milkers.
Bret: Dammit.
Ash: We should turn this into a drinking game this episode and every time milk flows it milk mommy milk or whatever big mommy milkers and Liquors has mentioned take a shot.
Justin: Please nobody wants to die.
Pat: Baby died about that but the the the liquor is named nicknamed by the cast and crew onset was Clint.
Pat: I don't know why.
Bret: Twins liquor.
Ash: Oh no.
Sam: Cunnilingus killer was not too far off.
Bret: It was not.
Ash: That's what she said.
Bret: This is an out of hand episode let me tell you.
Pat: Oh her like flashbacks.
Ash: It's true.
Justin: What's the temperature in this town can we talk about how the kissing on the mouth while having sex with actually a pivotal it's like plot point.
Ash: I kept thinking like wouldn't suck if her like memory loss wore off like completely and then she realized after keep shooting him in the head that she was like man I actually really love bad guy like we were in love we kissed while having sex.
Justin: Does not even movie version like I'm over but I actually have a lot of unpacking to do.
Justin: I also love that she met with that spy like on her f****** front porch and he's just like it looking out of a window.
Bret: They probably part of that conversation that they didn't show us like who's that guy in the window.
Justin: Oh that's my husband he's gardening is great.
Pat: Do you actually I think it considered significant other is he heard her say she wanted a lot of money for it so he's like I'm going to sell it and make a lot of money so he was doing it for her I think he's actually really sensitive he's a guy you know.
Ash: Wife.
Pat: Stop getting all emotional.
Justin: I mean like who doesn't like just activated viral agent that causes biological warfare.
Bret: And when he dies they said no more mr. Wife guy.
Bret: Totally.
Justin: Speaking of him dying I did not realize how much this movie was a PG-13 movie outside of that one always being there really were like you get this lawn and that.
Ash: Yeah.
Bret: We spent so much money on turning that man into digital jello.
Bret: We will not cut it.
Justin: Yeah.
Justin: Yeah.
Ash: What kind of like when when I think about this movie I never put it in the category with zombie movies because like as far as like the zombie stuff goes it's pretty like Manila you know like it's pretty like vanilla ice cream not very interesting when it comes to the zombie stuff and really the movie is all about like outsmarting the Red Queen and figuring out how to get out of this like environment which like you said Brett in the beginning feels very Cube you know it's it feels more I put it in that category or it even feels like a little bit like alien to me with like the liquor and they're trapped in this environment and they're trying to like Escape you know.
Justin: Weeping more book Creature Feature then like a zombie movie.
Bret: Yeah for sure.
Justin: I think the zombies only killed two people.
Ash: Yeah totally so I always find it weird when people like put this in the zombie movie category cuz like yes that's technical you right but.
Pat: I mean three.
Ash: Yeah they really didn't do a lot.
Justin: I love that like new 3.
Justin: Yeah.
Pat: One of the liquor guide Kaplan. Kaplan a lot of each other you would imagine.
Ash: We're not counting him as a zombie.
Ash: Eliquor.
Pat: I know I know.
Pat: I would.
Justin: Also she just like twist their neck and they die.
Ash: Oh yeah.
Pat: So much rather be outside in the world and during a zombie apocalypse then trapped in a tight quartered underground like lab with a bunch of zombies.
Bret: I have always had.
Pat: That is awful.
Bret: A question of especially with the way that the zombies are explained in this film about how zombies work and and this is my this is my one I know there's a lot you could throw at it this is my one of I don't believe it and it's that zombies would eat people because they're like they were taking some memories and they have the base function to feed what's that that's a line at McDonald's you remember being hungry I didn't need a ride human-like like if I die.
Sam: This is some Shaun of the Dead level s***.
Justin: Yeah I don't want to settle looking people think food.
Pat: You're saying they would shambles like fast food places and stuff.
Bret: It's a you just like walking to the zombies would just go to the store and eats like a steak or vegetables do I get in line at the f****** Burger King like.
Sam: They want fresh like like they want to kill it.
Ash: Isn't.
Sam: So is it they want to be the ones to kill it.
Bret: I've never wanted that that's not part of my memories.
Sam: Well.
Ash: The vegetarian is the one saying most to inches.
Sam: What part of becoming is a reanimated it's.
Bret: When did what part of becoming as a reanimated zombie with that retains some of his memories introduces the urge to kill.
Sam: It's the animal instinct.
Bret: Cherub can't kill anything.
Sam: Cherub was bred to guide blind people so.
Bret: Exactly and I was raised to sit on a couch and eat food that's delivered to me if I turn into a zombie I'm not eating anyone.
Justin: Was Texas to today sponge.
Justin: What you can't see is a jerk off motion.
Pat: Yeah that's what you get a******.
Justin: Yogalicious.
Ash: Yo.
Ash: Jovovich Jovovich.
Pat: Jovovich.
Sam: It's true.
Bret: Okay so this brings up another good point is that Sam brought up while watching the film at the beginning when we can't do it it's in my head tell Rich Milla Jovovich falls down in the shower and immediately shouts nobody Falls like that.
Pat: Like that perfect light.
Pat: Yeah.
Sam: At the sexy pose like the paint me like one of your French girls pose no.
Sam: Zombie pornstars.
Bret: There's I feel like there's probably a certain level of s******* at which point nothing you do can be unsexy including falling down and hurting yourself which will go into the Zombie World to be that when you turn into a zombie even as a zombie everyone that you're going to like.
Sam: Hello I am imagining a zombie strip club and I don't like it.
Pat: Carr lake lake wavering.
Ash: Oh yeah.
Justin: I want to prep if I was not the one who took the direction that God has here we sprinted back to monster f******.
Bret: Destiny.
Justin: Resident Evil.
Ash: I took a sharp turn.
Bret: Your presence as has done this to us Justin.
Ash: Yeah.
Justin: I'm glad I'm glad you guys are thinking about zombies erratically cuz you know what zombies deserve love to cuz if you think about it if they got that antivirus and they came back like sure they're little f***** up in like missing half their head but I don't want to make the head joke that would make them whole again.
Ash: Also got sucked up.
Justin: Could you imagine if this movie happened and it said be like you gotta shoot him in the head you got to give them the only way.
Pat: Zombie orgasm.
Sam: Probably probably is a portal that exists.
Justin: Shoot your load on their face.
Sam: You do and if this pornos doesn't exist if we make it we will become rich.
Justin: Oh 100 + 10.
Ash: Fred's dying.
Justin: All right sign up for the left rewatch onlyfans tier 3 sub let's go.
Sam: Is this is this is this not how you want to become a millionaire.
Ash: I think we found her patreon content.
Justin: Oh I passed that out I thought that out.
Sam: You're the zombie parody expert Ash.
Ash: Yeah yeah I'll get right on that.
Justin: Do we want to do full motion or half motion for the p***.
Justin: Oh my God.
Ash: Election I like this energy Justin you have to come back all the time.
Justin: I want to do I know I really want to do the next movie and I can't play it popped up and I said man you're right there I want to watch you but like I got to do the next episode.
Bret: I love this idea.
Justin: Oh man I'm so.
Ash: Again patreon concept so this movie.
Justin: Surprisingly good I had a blast.
Ash: Is very fun.
Sam: Yes I agree it like a level of good I was not expecting.
Bret: Yep.
Justin: There is yeah.
Ash: Yes yes.
Sam: I don't know is there a movie called underworld okay that is a little more like the tone I was expecting and not straight up like zombie horror so very pleasantly surprised excellent pick Justin Superluv this.
Justin: I do like am I appreciated strangely like how.
Pat: I would never think to do that.
Ash: I love that whole sequence because like there's no dialogue but we're able to like you know they're telling this story of her waking up and you know we also don't know what the hell's going on so you're like what is she doing why is she writing it and then you're like oh she's trying to see if this is her handwriting like is this her room is that her dress where is she and like she's piecing together too and like I just love the way that that scene was put together you know no no dialogue nothing really clear it's just as confusing for her as it is for us and we're like piecing it together I love that that was a very cool moment.
Justin: I also I also feel like going in and watching that sequence in 2002 or like the movie is called Resident Evil and she's walking around by herself in the house is like Ocean or the zombies in there like our issue going to be attacked while she's like naked.
Sam: So good I love the way that they frame the beginning of the movie like a mystery I like ash that I love that we that we were in on it as well like we had no clue and we were it really helped this connect with the main character because we also had no idea what was going on just really good storytelling to have us parallel the experience of the main character I loved it but fantastic storytelling.
Ash: Yeah I was thinking how the backdrop like the City Escape the fake cityscape is really there as a tool as the filmmaker to have us off you know throw us off like we don't know that is underground and just look like a normal City like you know office building and so that was like another really interesting like way that they built the mystery by like making us think that this is a normal building above ground or whatever you know.
Justin: Yeah the the amount of times that the story kind of like takes a step back and then bailed like another level of information was surprisingly like really well done like it feels like 20 years ago.
Ash: I was curious to ask you about the like all the Alice in Wonderland references in this movie like eyes that something that's in the games LOL.
Justin: Alice is like I totally like JW Anderson's always see right there that isn't his Resident Evil fanfic.
Ash: Oh well.
Pat: Her name is listed as Alice in the credits however this movie it is never uttered never said.
Justin: What is a real.
Justin: Oh yeah.
Justin: Oh that's smart.
Ash: Yeah cuz I was listening for it and I feel like I remembered that her name was Alice but nobody ever said her name and so like I was just picking up on like the rabbits the Red Queen going down the rabbit hole into the facility and like even the little girl feels like a little bit of a nod to Alice in Wonderland.
Sam: But super fun.
Justin: The Red Queen with a weird character to have her be this like very Posh British girl just like you are all going to die down here.
Pat: Yes.
Ash: Oh yeah.
Bret: Yeah did you get the feeling though that like they spend all their money on that hallway scene and they're like we're putting air in the like where is she.
Justin: Everyone look around everywhere else.
Bret: No more laser girl.
Justin: Yeah.
Ash: I also thought that was crazy to like kill like half of your cast off so quickly that such a bold move.
Bret: Totally.
Pat: Salman.
Justin: And that dude was at Collins Colin salmon delivered.
Sam: Yeah they killed.
Bret: Yeah I mean that was yeah they killed they killed a lot of people up kind of really didn't know who was going to make it out throughout the entire film until I mean I guess you probably could have guessed it was.
Pat: Any any Alice in Wonderland I mean there is a character was not included in this they considered called another AI called The White Queen that was going to help them and how in the first Soldier to die she gets beheaded off of their head.
Justin: Oh wow.
Bret: Pinterest.
Ash: Yep yeah there's a lot a lot of influences.
Pat: So all of me loves lines were 8 ER because she didn't like the way her voice sounded as she performed when they're actually shooting the scene so she went back it was her choice and redubbed every line of her dialogue with like a lower lower more tougher sounding voice.
Sam: Interesting.
Justin: Oh weird.
Ash: Or she did a great job.
Bret: She had she had the podcast syndrome like hearing her voice for the first time and it's like no no absolutely not.
Justin: Took those things off within the first 2 seconds.
Pat: Obviously you know that Iron Man and they take their helmets off cuz you can see cuz it's like you are the characters we want to see the different characters who wants to know and have them differentiated and that's why I like Heroes don't wear helmets and stuff when they're Leading Armies but it's pretty f****** wild that they went in there in the first place they have gas masks we saw them wearing them at the beginning and we know the Red Queen Candace can like Unleashed gas and has done it multiple times to see how would you not wear those things.
Sam: Okay I have an answer.
Bret: We are we have answers for that.
Justin: Oh.
Ash: I didn't understand was like the queen okay okay.
Sam: My guess is so with a typical mask you have a vapor cartridge that has a maximum functional time because then the cartridge gets filled up.
Sam: Maybe they were down there for too long and their cartridges were all fall so there's like f*** it.
Ash: I took it off in the house.
Justin: They f****** they busted into the Mansion they bunch in the Mansion like jumped Mila and and this f******.
Bret: Or somebody had somebody had air tester kit also we still work at that art museum they had at Halon at their fire suppression system and like you don't just have infinite Halon so it's like and the reason they have it is because it's defective and disperses quickly so you can run in and grab s*** and not die from the gas so.
Justin: Make sense.
Ash: So you're saying the queen had a limited amount is that what you're saying cuz what I don't understand is why she didn't just gas them as soon as they went in there.
Justin: Is out of juice.
Ash: She's out of juice.
Bret: Yeah it's cuz it's face cuz they yeah I think if I'm going to try and like imagine the reality of it is that she didn't have a thing that was going to kill everyone she had the fire suppression system that there was no water that drowned everyone and the Halo on that gas everyone so she didn't have like murder stuff so they wouldn't all the fire suppression systems anywhere they just go off and release all of the stuff and then.
Ash: Gotcha.
Sam: Also she's like a agent of chaos she didn't want to kill people to kill them she wanted dead bodies sit for the virus to infect so she started those initial murders to get the virus going so she had no motivation to kill those other people.
Justin: No she was trying to the container.
Ash: She didn't know she wanted to she's trying to contain the virus not cause it.
Justin: I don't think the Red Queen knows what she's doing.
Sam: Oh really.
Sam: I think she killed everyone or else.
Bret: Yeah I got I got the vibe cuz she said that the virus was added to living tissue and then you got the liquor so I think she killed everyone or else everyone was going to turn into Liquors.
Ash: Yeah.
Sam: Liquor for less.
Ash: Michelle Rodriguez.
Justin: What she was trying to use that to like if the last group got to the train and they didn't have the antivirus or they kept Rodriguez's character around then like she's going to like guidance there to be like them up because they can't take the virus out of here.
Ash: Yeah she couldn't let anyone out yeah.
Ash: Yeah.
Sam: Yeah.
Justin: Yeah.
Pat: I thought her motivation was a once you're down here you're too big of a risk I can't let you leave so I get the virus out.
Ash: Pretty much.
Bret: Well she should have told them in that mansion.
Sam: But then the virus was already out.
Sam: I mean.
Justin: Then we went and got into sweet movie.
Sam: The Carnage that the Alice walks into at the end is like days of Carnage so what the f***.
Sam: Yeah.
Justin: Yeah they can there there there was a newspaper printing like that s*** lasted a while.
Pat: Yeah red queen is not good at her job she's a badass and she should be deleted.
Sam: Plot twist maybe she was trying to keep them safe.
Pat: Who from the outside world.
Ash: Wait the newspaper clippings were at the end though when she wakes up in the white room right.
Ash: Yeah.
Sam: That's a good point okay okay okay okay.
Bret: Yeah I could have been at like.
Justin: Yeah like so like there must have been like days of time between between her getting kidnapped in her waking up.
Bret: Smile even been like 28 days.
Sam: I was good.
Justin: Why are you like this.
Justin: Also the idea when he up and having that many metals in you and then just screaming.
Sam: No thank you.
Ash: Yeah I did yeah.
Ash: Stop stop.
Pat: Will my invite thing in movies is doing see someone like ripping I Visa I'm like no oh my God that's why I can't it's not that easy and it hurts I hate that feeling so much IV and to do something and you feel it move inside your vein.
Bret: Yeah but that's okay.
Sam: No thank you.
Pat: Orbit Mike Smith.
Sam: Same end result.
Bret: Yeah why do they always rip it out like have you never had an IV before they pull it out gently same end result.
Pat: Or do you like I'm sure maybe for your take a second to be like I'm here for a reason there's an IV and me for a reason like.
Ash: Naked.
Justin: Broadcast naked.
Pat: In this case.
Sam: Alright to be fair she woke up and looked around in this absolute minimum coverage.
Bret: Alright to be fair she woke up and then like looked around in this in the absolute minimum coverage hospital gown.
Pat: Okay it in this case yes.
Justin: There was a time when.
Pat: MPA in this point I get it's obvious she's in likes kind of sinister Labs going to million things in her it's been awhile but you see it so often and movies and there in like a pretty normal-looking hospital bed and there's the sounds of life around them like it's an active hospitals not deserted and it's get up there.
Justin: Well I guess you just never had it attempt Mission pass.
Justin: That's it you just haven't you can't relate yet which is to say we're going to kidnap you yeah.
Ash: You don't go on rocks level missions Pat where you have to.
Pat: Not yet I'm just going to get a little bigger for.
Bret: I feel like that behavior falls into the same camp of like.
Justin: Aliveness movie.
Bret: It's just main characters are dumb as hell because like most movies of all genres would be solved if somebody just like talked for one moment and just said here's what's going on and then everyone will be on the same page and there will be no problems this is that this is like I'm going to wake up and do the worst possible thing for myself right now.
Justin: They do that a lot in this movie we're like they're on the verge of finally having a real discussion and then someone will bust into the room and Billy zombies.
Bret: Absolutely.
Ash: Brett's D&D playstyle makes a lot of sense now instead of an interaction.
Justin: Man.
Bret: That's pretty much how I Didi Games go today I kept trying to talk and everybody was like let's just kill ourselves.
Ash: No no.
Bret: There's a score in a temple with some mystery doors and they like let's split the party and have one person stand by each tour and have a third-person keep pressing buttons over here until one of them opens and like we're all going to die.
Justin: That sounds fun though the buttons wouldn't be there if they weren't meant to be pressed.
Pat: You do to see if is working.
Ash: Yeah but you don't have to stand in front of the door you can stand away from the door.
Justin: If the door opens up and then like it hits you just like.
Ash: But that's how.
Justin: The guy in Resident Evil learn that lesson. Lead or open nothing with him really greedy with a million hugs.
Ash: Yeah that's yeah.
Pat: That's all worst death in the movie is a million that's like for me and horror movies a bunch of zombies eating me all in unison.
Justin: I hope you think about that path tonight when you go to bed just a thousand hands grabbing you.
Pat: No.
Ash: Add seed in Shaun of the Dead give you heebie-jeebies.
Justin: This movie was a shockingly not gory like that sequence.
Pat: Yeah they don't really show it and then he wasn't very f***** up when he came back as a zombie out he should have like his nose missing and.
Bret: So here's.
Justin: Too much you got the cubes and that's it.
Bret: Here's our poll that will put up on Twitter I feel like but like what's worse getting eaten by all at once by a thousand zombies or getting eaten by one zombie slowly.
Pat: I mean.
Ash: Is it a zombie is it a fuckboy.
Bret: Being eaten by a fox Army.
Justin: Is weight is it a big zombie in your sliding like down the throat cuz that's the boar and that's going to give you some very different answer.
Justin: Shockingly orange eyes.
Bret: I just trying to play off of Pat stay near he's like I would hate it if a thousand Zombies Ate me was like.
Ash: Jason sister.
Justin: She starts at the crotch Burgers like.
Bret: You said that number real high.
Pat: Yeah just like like 10 different Mouse biting you.
Ash: Oh you're killing me but it's turning me on.
Pat: But here's why I brought cuz I don't think unless you are you pausing in the one zombie are you tied up or restrained cuz one zombie you can like push off you.
Justin: You're in your hands and legs are for whatever reason you cannot fight the zombie you or incapacity.
Pat: I mean yeah one to be terrible cuz it probably take longer.
Bret: Here's the scenario is your zombie food what's your I rather be eaten by a thousand.
Pat: Yeah but if you're restrained in the can't fight back against the single zombie yes I agree with you.
Bret: How kinky are you restrained.
Justin: So dark so fast they are shockingly fuzzy.
Ash: I want.
Bret: Should we do the wrap-up to feel like we're getting late here.
Ash: Okay.
Pat: Getting loopy.
Justin: Yeah now we're getting a movie.
Pat: This is been a very full episode I've got to go in the top maybe five least we've actually talked about the content of the movie.
Ash: I know.
Bret: But top five horniest episodes.
Pat: That to this award all around we did talk about the dog Kik.
Ash: I think it's the horniest episode.
Bret: It's absolutely the horniest episode we've ever had at your ritash.
Justin: Asheboro movie that is really not very.
Pat: You just a demigod of horniness Justin prancing through the internet Forester wherever you go it's like Johnny Appleseed of horniness.
Ash: Have you met if he cuz I feel like you two would get along.
Pat: Yes yes I would tell him meet.
Sam: He sounded excited by that.
Bret: He sounded excited by that.
Justin: Oh no. I'm very excited I'm very excited to know I am very excited to.
Ash: Would you kiss while having sex.
Bret: We're talking about Pat for but we will go back to the movie.
Justin: That's the Twitter poll would you rather be bored by Pat or eaten by.
Pat: I'm never going to win that.
Ash: Either way Pat wins.
Justin: Either way Pat people the protein pathy most protein.
Pat: I know right.
Pat: Bright.
Bret: The games.
Pat: We can't.
Justin: This is the ultimate biohack.
Pat: Thank you.
Ash: Ono.
Ash: Biomax.
Bret: Final final thoughts he wants to go first.
Sam: I'll go first.
Ash: Done.
Sam: I really really enjoyed this it was super fun surprisingly well done ya see it.
Bret: Clint.
Pat: Excellent.
Ash: Clint liquor.
Bret: Jacqueline.
Sam: Like I said before I really love the way that they built in history I loved how like stylized and like graphic the beginning opened it really like felt like a video game but was still cinematic so it was like they really respected their their original content that you know the film was based off of I loved the music and I loved how it felt like video game music where it was more atmospheric and it did a really good job with building the tension without being too distracting and it had a little bit of techno Vibes to like kind of give you a futuristic feel without it feeling too cheesy the acting was really good zombie effects were really good outside of the the monster Being Cheesy CG thank you.
Justin: Yeah.
Bret: The part that you had the most trouble with was actually before the zombies that elevator scene at the beginning you had your like so Ted's.
Pat: Oh yeah.
Ash: Oh yeah.
Sam: You're like so I was yes fact I just like don't do that that's how you get chopped in half lady.
Justin: Wait wasn't that the sister.
Sam: No.
Justin: Oh okay.
Justin: Oh you're right you're right.
Ash: Me too and I knew what was happening yeah I remember I was like oh I remember this and I was still alike no no that was the lady that talked to the coffee guy in the beginning she's like people Monday's am I right.
Justin: The ultimate water.
Bret: Looks like someone's having a case of the Mondays.
Justin: God I wish there was a poster of the cat and adjusted hang in there that would or just steal his sealed.
Ash: In the lab.
Bret: Boy yeah.
Ash: I'm glad you mentioned the acting Sam cuz you're right the acting was really good.
Ash: Oh yeah.
Justin: Yeah the sequence when they're being attacked by the first horde and spends remember anyone's name so they feel like.
Ash: Yeah like that's not helping anything.
Sam: Kind of hard to follow.
Pat: Rain.
Bret: Yeah the name is we're kind of hard to follow life except they kept saying Michelle Rodriguez's character's name and I I had to pause it and see what the name was because cuz like what are you saying then ran.
Ash: Rain.
Sam: Lakers.
Ash: Oh yeah.
Justin: Brain info.
Bret: I almost am certain that that's not his real name that's a Hollywood.
Pat: Ya damn straight.
Sam: Rainn Wilson would beg to differ that rain is not a name it's a real name if you say it at one point no names or real names.
Ash: I actually think it is his real name.
Sam: Armie Hammer.
Bret: Go to go to the go tell that to Armie Hammer Armie Hammer.
Ash: Tell that to Clint's liquor.
Sam: Armie Hammer Of God of cunnilingus killer thank you.
Bret: I saw the newspaper call some.
Sam: I put the newspaper calls yes.
Justin: Yeah I just I just you know I didn't really appreciate that Clint was missing for most of the show and it healed like once you found them then it was over and you know just really shows that he was the star.
Pat: Also Rainn Wilson is his real name.
Bret: What is it.
Sam: Barrettes.
Bret: Okay so he.
Ash: Yeah cuz I think his parents were hippies or something I feel like I've heard him talk about it before.
Bret: Rather be reined in like a.
Bret: Moonbeam.
Ash: Yep.
Pat: Son of Shea Cooper a yoga teacher and actress and Robert to Cooper a novelist artist.
Bret: Alright.
Bret: Yeah the Nemesis project.
Ash: Okay I'll go next yeah I overall I had fun and I enjoyed this movie I think I've seen this review a couple times now and there's things about it I really like I love the beginning like what Sam was saying more like they're making this mystery and like I love both the opening in the office you know when it first gets out and I love the opening with her in the shower sort of waking up and figuring stuff out for me though it's not my favorite song B-movie and I I think my other criticism of the movie would just be that there's a lot of unnecessary slow motion and in moments where I'm like number one the slow-motion doesn't look good here you didn't shoot high enough frame rate and number to you didn't need it you know this scene would have been fine without it but overall I think the movies really good the ending still didn't make sense to me but Bryce mentioned that the guy at the end turns into a bad guy from one of the other games cuz he's like played all the games so they mention there like I want him in the whatever program I don't know what it was.
Pat: Nemesis.
Justin: The Nemesis program.
Ash: So that was like I've seen this movie multiple times and that never meant anything to me until he just explained it today I do I do feel like the end of the movie just feels weird to me I do like this idea of her like waking up you know when the world went to s*** or whatever but it just yeah I don't I don't know something about it feels it's just not my favorite but overall I enjoyed the Philip and had had a really good time I want to watch the next one.
Justin: I need to see him.
Bret: Yeah we got it we got to go through all of these now yeah this movie was super fun to watch and I'm still stuck on that like you know I feel like if if there was a whole town full of zombies the Amazon accidentally created and somebody got out and they're like don't open those doors there zombies in there Jeff Beezus be like zombies like open the doors like fully believable to me I get it I follow.
Bret: But dang yeah I think that's the thing I wanted to talk about to say I mention that the yet the music in this movie was like super cool atmospheric like house music Vibes sound effects on beat which.
Justin: Oh you're right.
Bret: Like it was it was very atonal and like stuff in it really sold the mood of the movie in like a science has gone wrong kind of way and my immediate contrast was Matrix soundtrack where every song in that movie was either the theatrical Hollywood strings or like real actual techno music from different bands and this is kind of the same thing but like done in a way that I don't know they didn't make up sound effects as a thing but like it felt it felt groundbreaking at the time or so that you could just do the whole horror movie with this atmosphere and not like try to put me up with us with a soundtrack you know other than that.
Bret: Totally.
Justin: Yeah I like no I would like I was going to reinforce it that I feel like the thing that I enjoyed the most was how much of the movie like build off of itself like things like the music like the sequence.
Justin: Yeah.
Bret: Yeah definitely and there's that scene where the dude gets pulled through the door when it opens and he even at in the moment the same as like to recognize how tame the violence actually was there just like the the sound design really sold that.
Justin: Yeah I really like the old to thousands like Roars and what not like it is Buhl overly realistic which helped me not expect more from the movie like a stalker or enjoy it.
Bret: Yeah they do a lot with this which I like the lot so much fun to watch the action was good feeling seeing Jovovich do around house kick to a dog's face is still awesome 20 years later that one didn't age at all and highly recommend this one if you haven't watched in a while this one holds up pretty well minus the atrocious big bad CGI.
Ash: Yeah.
Pat: I'll Capital it was I enjoyed it was fun movie is good just action or sci-fi flick I wish more movies would just do fun things just have fun with it seemed like they were having a good time and try to do something cool.
Sam: Yeah.
Sam: Absolutely.
Justin: Is it weird that I really liked how the movie wasn't that violent like I don't know why we like it made it weird lead more enjoyable to Nazi like all the gut.
Bret: That was that reminds me of when we tried to watch The Expendables which I understand that a lot of people seem to enjoy but I got like 10 minutes into it and turned it off cuz I was like.
Sam: The Expendables or the kingsman.
Bret: No Expendables we all had to do with Kingsman 2 but it was just like.
Ash: Really Kingsman I think that one was very gory was.
Bret: I guess Kingsman if that's the one that you guys can remember that first opening fight sequence and he just like blows that dude away and there's just like Gore and blood everywhere and.
Ash: Oh that's my favorite.
Sam: They chop the guy in half.
Bret: And they chop them up and I was like that's not what I want my action movies I want I want fun I want like lightweight visuals I can handle like the heavy ideas but I don't want to be like scarred from this experience visually.
Ash: Yeah that was so great.
Justin: Yeah like what's told me about like the action was when Michelle Rodriguez like shoot the zombie and like we just like.
Bret: That was dope but.
Justin: Yeah.
Ash: I love it when it's like over-the-top Gore like it's obvious that its fake and it but it's like still over-the-top it's like someone's head explodes and you're like yeah that was a balloon that's my favorite.
Justin: Yeah.
Bret: Yeah and I can anyway there's not even talk about that.
Ash: I think I don't you mean like I stopped watching The Walking Dead for that reason like The Walking Dead got to a point where it felt like it was like torture p*** and you're like I don't need this in my life.
Justin: Yeah that's where it is from being if it gets play torture corn levels that I'm not interested a lot of kind of like.
Ash: Yeah.
Justin: Please their sense Burgers they are valid there are valid word for sandybrook we protect it still requires on stock value.
Bret: Yeah and I was having a conversation just yesterday about like even stuff that's not visual like murder murder shows pot murder podcasting where it like I just I can't do it because it was like you know taking enjoyment from like someone's actual murder and it would movies I know it's fake beep fake death sunscreen but like how you know I've seen I've seen in person someone get really really hurt once before and some of the over tops over-the-top stuff isn't his over-the-top as you might think it is and.
Bret: There's a reference like.
Bret: Yeah.
Pat: Weird squishy balls of jelly like we are yeah.
Bret: There's people.
Justin: Electric bags of me.
Pat: We are goose axe.
Justin: Yeah my dude.
Bret: When they're when they're trying to figure out how to make someone's arm like it hacked off someone on that team is like referencing a video or someone's arm got hacked off you know it and it's just I just can't I can't do it anymore.
Ash: Now that I have a baby.
Justin: Yeah once you seen one knife wound.
Bret: Yeah exactly though Dustin exactly.
Justin: Yeah I just said that everything like I agree with you guys.
Bret: Absolutely absolutely they committed to what they had.
Ash: Get that the average.
Pat: Average.
Justin: Perfect movie 100.
Sam: It was like.
Bret: It was like.
Ash: There's nothing wrong.
Justin: Don't say that this movie got a hundred nominations at the Oscars.
Ash: 100 why didn't know that that many categories.
Pat: No honestly Gundam.
Justin: Yeah they said they make window a lot of categories if they technically weren't supposed to be in but just such a good movie.
Ash: Or comedy.
Justin: It's a pretty funny movie.
Justin: Do you want a real clown.
Ash: Yeah yeah.
Pat: Achilles got f****** damn it honestly I think about it the more like I really wished they hadn't done it with that because if they had done a cool practical effect would like cool Prosthetics and like some kind of makeup for like a person like a physical actor I thought this movie would be like I will call it like really really yes I really really really good but that part is so jarring in like taking you out of it how bad the CG is it looks great and the dogs are scary the zombies are scary the Red Queen is scary and then it's like okay that's that's computers that's that's not they're not there.
Justin: That's too fast 2002.
Pat: Yeah but I'm saying if that.
Justin: PlayStation 1.
Ash: Oh you took that out of the video game.
Justin: Yeah.
Ash: Yeah.
Pat: Yeah it look like it but if that thing has been like more visceral in grounded real looking after this movie would be held up more like a classic like I'm more like an excellent I'll take it out take it from like a good entertain movie to know this is an excellent movie this is good.
Bret: I kind of wonder if I like this movie I feel like could use you know that the heavy hand of George Lucas kind of like Willits do a remaster where they do the where they don't change anything except they just reanimate the monster and put them in there with today's Tack and that would be amazing.
Sam: Great idea.
Ash: Yeah.
Justin: I also I almost feel you those sequences using a practical cuz I don't think its shares the screen with any of them at any point cuz I would have been way too expensive.
Justin: Oh you're right.
Justin: Yeah.
Ash: Except for when he's killing the guy but like that could easily be I mean it's really minimal and it's from a security cam so I feel like you could get away with the guy being so usually there too or something and if it was good enough but I was going to say this movie gave me alien Vibes sometimes especially like with some of the set design and so I feel like if they had gone practical and they had gone really really good practical it would feel you know it would stand the test of time just like alien would you know does I mean.
Bret: For sure.
Bret: 33 male and probably like 5 plus smell of that was for the for the shity monster.
Bret: And even when they don't look good it's better than when CG looks bad.
Ash: Yeah.
Sam: Here's the great Hollywood secret is that like ninety-nine percent of the time practical effects are so much cheaper than CG the ability to make changes at any point in time so yes I get it but also I just love practical effects and they look so good most of the time I wish more people would use them true.
Justin: Oh yeah you're right with the hallway.
Sam: About the city the bending city is it's a combo but it is partially practical.
Sam: Yes.
Sam: Yep.
Justin: New screen.
Justin: Oh yeah.
Ash: I didn't know that I was thinking like Mandalorian how they like like they use for the screen and then like also Whenever there was like an alien creature it's like practical you know like yeah.
Sam: Yeah.
Bret: We are all the aliens for supercooled Amanda.
Ash: I mean the screens kind of yeah the streets kind of practical and CG all at the same time.
Justin: I did.
Sam: Fun facts about Mandalorian did you know they wanted to make the child a CG puppet and the director thought to make him practical and best decision ever.
Pat: As the Director Verner hertzog he called The Producers cowards.
Ash: He talked them into it.
Bret: Got if Werner hertzog calls you a coward like that's a insult you listen to.
Justin: What hertzog did Resident Evil.
Ash: Oh my God.
Ash: Be interesting.
Justin: I'm kind of curious cuz they're doing a reboot of the series now we're supposed to be more horror and I wonder is the lean into that practical side the big monsters because like in in the games like the t-virus.
Ash: Yeah.
Ash: Leschi way.
Bret: Yeah flashy flashy wet too many muscles and like Ambiguously bloody like that's so many identical looking monsters.
Justin: They don't have.
Ash: Ambiguously bloody the new album.
Justin: They don't have the courage to give you that ultra-long top that gives you exactly what you want and need.
Pat: Speaking of giving us exactly what we want and need in our content Justice tousled about dryad real quick working people you just wrapped up the second volume you're currently working on the third volume.
Justin: I am it is a cyberpunk fantasy series think of it like Blade Runner with L and it's very.
Bret: Very exciting.
Justin: Yeah and if you need elves and monster f****** to tide you over you can find me on patreon and on Twitter at Ono just know where a update regularly with.
Justin: The request from the people.
Ash: Oh.
Ash: Creating it yeah.
Bret: Yet Justin's the rare the rare kind of artist and author here instead of creating something and then protecting his IP from unlicensed fan content and pouring he's he's beating them to the Chase and he's like here's the creation and then I'm going to rule 34 it myself.
Justin: I I I spoke to my publisher about this because we we ran into an issue with all of their like almost every review the book started talking about how all of the characters are stupid hot and like it's just a very prominently bisexual book and I don't like.
Justin: So it is with the power of the Mummy the 1990s mummy.
Bret: So glad well thank you again for coming on the show.
Ash: Can I buy it on Amazon I can.
Justin: You can buy on Amazon yet the physical copies will be on Amazon volume to its on comixology as well for a little cheaper 4-Digit.
Bret: Hey you got out you always got to have the always about the one where you get the biggest cut right like which who gets you the biggest cut okay.
Justin: The biggest cut for me is when you buy it directly from me at convention.
Bret: Are you go that's weird for in the music world it's like every single service gives you a different cut and they're wildly.
Justin: I think they're different but like if I'm not by much.
Bret: It was almost falling asleep there just thank you for coming on the show.
Justin: Only God and reach out to me if you guys want to do the sequel.
Bret: Oh but we will.
Justin: I'm so interested.
Ash: Oh my God yes yes.
Justin: I'll do it.
Justin: I'll do it.
Pat: That's is a patreon is done a lot of First episodes of Frank movie franchises paycheck on the rest of the series with that same guest with the same guest.
Ash: You know what we could do is I'm sorry but I know you're trying to wrap this up or we could do is we could do it as patreon content but to save Brett from having to edit anything we can do them as livestream for like we we just do the show but it's not recorded.
Justin: That is so dangerous I'm here for it.
Bret: I just we cannot we cannot ever ever livestream ask we can never ever ever relax.
Ash: Alright.
Justin: Be the problem is is that you guys have a brand to protect the people come to me for monster f****** nobody like yes yes this this is my.
Sam: Things that all of us are on this show that you never hear again because I cut it out.
Sam: Does it sound wrong in the moment.
Bret: The things that all of us say on this show that you never hear again cuz I cut it out like it doesn't sound wrong in the moment but f*** when I'm editing apps like oh my God what did we just say yeah alright.
Ash: What's wrong with butterfly kid.
Justin: Listen listen listen or I want you to tweet at Atlas re-watched about how many times the term big mommy milkers made it into this episode.
Bret: I feel like we should we should give someone we should give someone a prize if they count how many times you said big big mommy milkers.
Pat: Justin will draw some for you.
Sam: Are you just trying to get a prize prep for when you edit the episode I said are you just trying to get a prize.
Ash: Yeah.
Pat: Cuz you're going to count.
Bret: I can cat I can gather while I'm adding it home I'll know.
Justin: Hahaha I've broken the formula.
Bret: Alright.
Ash: Well you can also Fallen triangle.
Bret: How else are you is that was like I said it before you started talking on my end.
Sam: Ouch that was like I said it before you started talking on my end.

Bret: I'm so sad that the last episode that we recorded I I didn't actually say the thing that I wanted to say just to enrage you cuz we were watching what we watching adaptation of Sherlock and I wanted my review to just be books.
Justin: Yeah but you're laying like if your book doesn't have pictures in it like what's the point.

Bret: But anyway Pat is literally asleep right now join us next time when we watch the movie with the most horny sounding title I could find to go along with this horny horny episode but I can't see what's not horny in real life where to watch Gerald mcboing boing.
